X-Pilot, a 72 ton ex pilot vessel built along the lines of a tug, will be running trips to the forts throughout 2010/11 and don’t forget, Project Redsands supply vessel X-Pilot is the ONLY vessel that you can actually board the forts from. This trip is an adventure and the weather and tide are our masters, so we regret we cannot run to a timetable.
There are two ways to book this exciting trip.
The simplest and easiest way is to hire the X-Pilot for yourself and your party at a cost of £450. This option ensures the boat is exclusively for your party. X-Pilot is licensed for twelve passengers, so with a full party that works out at less than £38 per head. You are free to hire the vessel for a smaller party of course and take your own private trip. Subject to the weather and tidal restrictions you can choose your own sailing date. The round trip is approximately five hours giving you one hour aboard the fort, although you can stay longer by arrangement.
Alternatively, you may buy a voucher for yourself or a smaller party at a cost of £40 per head. We keep details of all people waiting for a sailing and will keep in contact advising of possible sailings. Please note that we need to build a group of least eight passengers for each sailing and again all sailings are subject to the weather and tidal restrictions. The voucher is valid indefinitely and protects you against any future price increases.
For either option if you choose to board the fort you will need to pay an additional £35 boarding fee to the Project Redsand Trust, a registered charity.

All sailings are subject to the weather and tidal restrictions. Hire of the boat for a party is payable in advance. Hire of the boat is non-refundable. Every effort will be made to find a mutually suitable alternative date should the trip be cancelled due to the weather. Should you need to cancel your trip due to personal reasons we will be happy to arrange a mutually suitable alternative provided we are given a minimum of 24 hours notice. Vouchers are non-refundable unless we have not managed to agree a mutual sailing date within one year of purchase.
